Our programs aim to foster strong connections to the land through conservation efforts, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning. Come train in an outdoor education setting with children ages 3-18 in one of our many outdoor, nature based, child led programs. We are a fun and engaging group of folks who support each individual’s unique voice and talents, while providing hands-on opportunities for growth and professional development. The Willowell Foundation, based on 230 acres in Monkton, VT, connects people to the arts, education, the environment, and each other through land-based programs. Our programs include the Walden Project, a nationally-recognized outdoor public high school; summer camps; artist residencies; Wren’s Nest Forest Preschool; after school programs; the Monkton Wood Bank; wildlife monitoring; community gardening; farm-to-school; and wetland conservation. We serve local students, teachers and community members in these environmental education initiatives. Members will serve outdoors through all weather in our nature-based programs. Some office time required to fulfill requirements of service position. Members will generally serve Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-4:30PM, but some evening and weekends will be required. As well as occasional longer overnight field trips with students. We are a fun and welcoming group of people who try to create a year of service to meet member’s personal and professional goals. Position begins September 11th, 2023 and ends August 9th, 2024. Full Time: Requires 1,720 hours for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks.
