Organization Overview: Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) was founded in 2013 with the mission to increase the number of young men of color (YMOC) to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. We envision a world where men of color are overrepresented in higher education, underrepresented in the criminal justice system, and leaders in their communities. We work to combat academic inequities and build a college-to-community pipeline with remarkable resilience, authenticity, and passion. What exactly do Mentor Fellows do? IYT's Mentor Fellowship Program is an opportunity for diverse college or recent high school and college graduates and emerging leaders to develop strong, innovative, and empathetic leadership skills while supporting young scholars of color on their journey to and through college. Mentor Fellows serve at middle school, high school or local college campuses providing valuable mentorship and academic support to IYT participants in one of our signature programs; College Academy, IYT Community College, or IYT University. We have programs in Sacramento, Central Valley, and Bay Area. Candidates of all gender are encouraged to apply!

Member Duties : Support extended day programming by facilitating enriching activities for students before, during, and after school, including bur not limited to academic enrichment and intervention, homework support, recreation, service learning, and leadership development.
