The nursing process is use! d from admission throughout the periâ€"operative experience.Plans, implements and evaluates a formal written individualized plan of care within the appropriate time frame based on the nursing assessment and diagnosis and appropriate standard of care.Participates in quality improvement as defined for the Surgical Services Department.Provides direct nursing care based on the type of surgery, plan of care, and established priorities.Implements surgical post op plan of care.Delegates and guides aspects of patient care to appropriate personnel based on level of acuity and individual patient needs.Utilizes appropriate resources to provide nursing care based on surgical procedure and patient needs.Coordinates with other members of the healthcare team to implement the patient s plan of care.Administers medication and treatments as prescribed.Performs nursing action that demonstrates accountability.Continuously reassess all components of patient care based on new data.Employee has w! illingness and ability to perform additional duties in differe! nt areas of the department/hospital on an asâ€"needed basis.Communicates well with management, coâ€"workers and physicians, reporting problems with equipment, supplies, or procedures.Consistently strives to understand, anticipate and meet the needs, expectations and satisfaction of patients, visitors, coâ€"workers and medical staff.Delegates patient care to appropriate nursing staff based on patient s level of acuity and needs.Completes shift assignment documentation.Supervises and communicates with nursing staff, the implementation of the patient s medical and clinical plan of care.Mentors staff, providing opportunities for their growth and development.Coordinates scheduling and activity in the unit and assigns staff based on the number and/or types of surgeries scheduled for each day. Coordinates the call schedule for the day.Incorporates the philosophy and standards of the Nevada State Nursing Association and ASPAN standards of practice. High School Diploma and or equive! lant.
Graduate from an RN Nursing program.One (1) year experience in a Post Anesthesia or critical care area.Nevada RN license, and CPR certification for Health Care Providers or equivalent required. Must obtain ACLS within 3 months of hire date and PALS within 6 months of hire date
