Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to mentally ill and/or mentally and physically ill or disabled individuals, in an institution or outpatient setting. Incumbents! possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located in Sparks at Lake's Crossing Center, a maximum security forensic facility. To see full Class Specifications visit: To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements: Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada and two years of professional nursing experience, one of which included working in a facility or institution with individuals with mental illness or mental retardation; OR one year as a Psychiatric Nurse I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes A bachelor's degree in nursing is equivalent to a diploma or associate's degree in nursing and one year of experience. Special Requirements CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a ! condition of continuing employment. A valid driver's license i! s required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety.
