Kern Health Systems is located in Bakersfield, California approximately 150 miles North form Los Angeles, California. We arent a big town but w! e do have that small town feel … this provides an awesome atmosphere of comfort in that we dont have those heavy 5:00pm traffic jams or speed racers. The QI Registered Nurse will assist in clinical activities related to monitoring, assessing and improving performance in ambulatory and inpatient health care delivery or health care related services to KFHC membership. The QI Nurse will assist in the implementation of the KFHC QI Plan and communicate with contracted providers regarding studies or participation and will participate in records reviews, chart abstractions and copying records as part of the general QI reporting process which includes data collection, tabulation and report writing.

Five years (5) of RN experience in an acute health ca! re setting preferably in Emergency, Critical and/or general Medical-Surgical Care.
One year (1) experience in UM/QI in a managed care ambulatory setting preferred.
Conducts facility site reviews for credentialing and re-credentialing of practitioners and providers as needed.
Prepares and reports physician specific findings to the Director of Quality Improvement, Health Education and Disease Management for physician profiling.
Assists in problem identification, data analysis, conclusions, recommendations, action plan design, follow-up and tracking.
Knowledge of managed care systems in a Knox-Keene licensed health maintenance organization (HMO); Applicable standards and regulations pertaining to quality management programs for the DHS, NCQA and HEDIS data collection and analysis; study design methods and appropriate quality tools and applications is preferred.
Possession of a valid California Registered Nursing License.
