Job Description:

The Pain Management Services Operations Manager (Acute Care) provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational responsibility for assigned pain management services.

This is a system-level leadership role directly reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Pain Management Services. The incumbent provides leadership and strategic direction for assigned operations and all aspects of pain management services (e.g., patient safety, quality, access, stewardship, and caregiver engagement).

Job Essentials

Responsible for the strategic vision, goals, and initiatives associated with pain management services. Works collaboratively with facility-based managers, operations officers, and executive leadership within Intermountain Healthcare to ensure continued progress toward achievement of shared goals and full-scale integration.
Ensures all assigned pain management services are operated in a perpetually compliant manner with all State and Federal laws, and Intermountain policies and procedures.
Serves on various committees and acts as a subject matter expert and leader in pain management services.
Creates, implements, and continually assesses progress toward business objectives for assigned operations.
Establishes reporting systems, performance standards, and methodology for measuring personnel performance.
Educates and holds leaders accountable for appropriate business operations, budgets, staffing levels, and workflows.
Develops and updates polices, and standard operating procedures as requested.
Works with Acute Care and Ambulatory Care leaders to ensure processes are in place that comply with applicable pain management services regulations.
Develops and applies a systematic approach to assessing adherence to policies, procedures, guidelines, and other requirements pertinent to pain management services. Holds direct reports accountable for promoting an always-safe environment.
Regularly visits assigned operations and works collaboratively with pain management services managers, operations officers, and executive leadership within Intermountain Healthcare.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with administrators, operations officers, and pain management services leaders and supports them in their functional roles.
Adheres to the Intermountain Operating Model.
Models and fosters an environment of professionalism, continuous learning, and clinical excellence.
Ensures that caregivers are competent operationally, clinically, and financially.
Creates employee-retention strategies focusing on professional growth and development.
Develops standards and accountability for service excellence. Sets aggressive goals with caregivers and leadership to continuously improve the customer experience.
Provides effective leadership and supervision while directing the work of assigned caregivers.
Identifies opportunities to capture efficiencies in labor, equipment, and product for assigned operations. Tracks key performance indicators and monitors the progress for return-to-green plans.
Ensures that down-time procedures and contingency plans are created, appropriate, taught, and followed by caregivers.
Works closely with affiliated and employed providers and medical-group leadership to identify innovative opportunities for the provision of pain management services.
Demonstrates attributes of a quick and life-long learner.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Two years of leadership experience.

Five years of healthcare experience.
- and -
Exceptional understanding of Intermountain policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in healthcare administration or business administration.

Five years of leadership experience.

Previous experience in change management.
- and -
Previous integrated healthcare delivery system.

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

See and read computer monitors and documents.

Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$42.81 - $66.08
